Wells, England’s smallest City is a twenty minute walk along a paved footpath across the Bishop’s Palace fields.  Visit the exquisite cathedral, described by Pevsner as one of Britain’s finest; stroll around the moated Bishop’s Palace where the swans ring a bell at feeding time or simply browse the delightful shops around the historic Market Square. Wednesdays and Saturdays are market day when the superb Farmers Market comes to town. Wells also boasts a cinema, swimming pool and leisure centre.


There are two golf courses within 2 miles, the Blagdon and Chew Valley trout lakes are within about 10 miles and there are theatres at Bath (15 miles) and Bristol (18 miles). Racing is at Bath, Taunton, Salisbury, and Wincanton. 


Nearby attractions also include Glastonbury Tor, Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge,  Longleat House, Stourhead House & Gardens to name but a few.
